Why Pioneers exists
Pioneers started as a single after-school debate club because one of its founders — a national champion herself — kept meeting brilliant students with no serious training available to them outside a handful of well-resourced schools. A decade later, that same conviction runs the organization: reasoning, delivery and composure are trainable skills, and every student deserves a real shot at building them.

Pioneers founded by Amina Otieno with a single after-school debate club.
First inter-school league launched with four founding member schools.
Journalism and poetry programmes added alongside debate and public speaking.
Spelling Bee programme launched; first national finals held in Nairobi.
